SQF (Safe Quality Foods)

SQF stands for Safe Quality Food and is a fully integrated safety and quality management system.

 Implementation

“The SQF 2000 Code requires that Pre-requisite Programs, Food Safety Plans and Food Quality Plans be implemented and maintained by a “SQF Expert”.  The “SQF Expert” is either a SQF Practitioner or a SQF Consultant.  The supplier may comply with this requirement by designating a suitably qualified staff member as a SQF Practitioner or hiring a SQF Consultant. 

 SQF Levels of Certification

1 – Food Safety Fundamentals

2 – Certified HACCP Food Safety Plans

3 – Comprehensive Food safety and Quality Management System

 All require training of / by a “SQF Trainer”.  Chilton Consulting Group can be that trainer.  We will ensure that your staff is competent to ensure a safe and quality product.

SQF 2000 Training

 Level I – Food Safety Fundamentals

Training is required of personnel carrying out task assoc with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), appropriate food safety controls and all regulatory requirements.

Level II – Certified HACCP Food Safety

 Provide HACCP training for all members of the Food Safety Plan Development Team.

For those responsible for critical steps in the hazard analysis and for implementing and maintaining the Food Safety Plan – training shall be provided.  Training shall also be provided for the maintenance of food safety and the Food Safety Plan.

Level III – Comprehensive Food Safety and Quality Management Systems

Anyone responsible for tasks critical to assuring food quality and safety will receive appropriate training.  Written instruction will be provided detailing how tasks critical to the maintenance of food safety, quality and process efficiencies are to be performed.

 All training and instructions MUST be documented.
